//hearing: The Rolling Stones - Rice Crispies for You!
//thinking: I ♥ Jeff Beck

I highly advise each and every one of you -- or just that one of you -- to pick up "Time Life's History of Rock & Roll" on DVD for $79.99. It is the epitome of my lustful feelings towards people who don't exist anymore. And when I say "don't exist" I mean they will never look like they did in the Sixties when they were all gorgeous.

//hearing: The Yardbirds - I Got Love If You Want It
//thinking: damn!

There are these two songs I desperately neeed to obtain from wherever: "Train Kept A-Rollin'" - the Yardbirds, and "Carrie-Anne" - the Hollies.

Oh, where can I get those from? Hmm...

Kazaa never ceases to let me down on numerous occasions. I risk a black mark on my permanent record and disappointment is all I get.

//hearing: The Spencer Davis Group - Keep On Running
//thinking: ...nothing!

So ... another diary. To disintegrate away into oblivion. It's fun wasting webspace, no?

Anyway. Here I am. My name is Isabella van Helsing. I have the coolest name ever! Anyway. My personality, like many peoples', is defined by none other than ... my music. I don't listen to hip-hop. Awww, too bad, huh? Anyway, my favourite bands/musicians are, in no specific order: the Rolling Stones, the Who, Led Zeppelin, the Hollies, the Kinks, the Spencer Davis Group, the Yardbirds, Cream, Chicago, the Dave Clark Five, Herman's Hermits, Them, the Doors, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the Animals, Chuck Berry, Boston, the Strawberry Alarm Clock, the Ventures, Booker T & the MGs, the Young Rascals, CCR, the Association, the Zombies, and what would this music collection be without the slightly (!) overrated Beatles. (You: ...) And of course, there's the occasional AC/DC, Aerosmith, Van Halen, and Rush. If you haven't heard of/heard some of these bands, if you have the means, I highly recommend picking up copies of albums of each. It would be extremely beneficial to your ... knowledge. (Note: the knowledge you obtain from this will not be beneficial to you whatsoever!) Most people would say, "Oh, your father and mother raised you on good music." But that's incorrect. My father and mother raised me on country and disco, for crying out loud. True, I heard these artists in my youth, but from my father's car radio, at my request. All I remember hearing about the songs on the radio is the year they were recorded and, if no one had told me otherwise, I'd have thought it was 1965 in 1995. Perhaps we'll get into that later.

Also, I began indulging in "The Hobbit" at the mere age of six. Though I didn't really understand it, I enjoyed the illustrations in my version, and thus began my obsession with Lord of the Rings and whatnot. When I was in fourth grade, I read Harry Potter, which was nothing compared to the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. And then I read Dracula. Sooo.

I am not decayed wood, nor am I Chinese incense. And I don't ride around London in a Vespa.

It's just who I am.
